Target Audience.

Sportswear and lifestyle consumers who prioritize sustainability in their purchases.

Challenges and Issues.

Consumers are increasingly conscious of the environmental impact of fashion and are calling for greater responsibility and transparency from fashion brands. While adidas has a history of taking sustainable actions and ongoing efforts to become more sustainable, these initiatives are not effectively communicated to consumers. This results in:

  • Limited consumer perception of adidas as a sustainable brand.

  • Difficulty in discerning the sustainability of products.

  • Lack of information about the sustainable techniques employed by adidas.

Objectives.

  • Raise awareness among consumers regarding adidas' sustainability efforts and accomplishments to establish credibility in sustainability.

  • Simplify the process for online users (both on the website and app) to access information about product sustainability.

Solutions.

  • Establish a knowledge source that provides consumers with comprehensive information about adidas' past, present, and future sustainability endeavors. This hub should be accessible on both the website and the adidas app.

  • Include relevant sustainability information about products on the Product Detail level and incorporate sustainability communication into other pertinent user touchpoints on the web and app.

Achievements.

A Sustainability knowledge hub was integrated into all international adidas websites. Here, users can access information about adidas' mission to become the most sustainable fashion brand, details about materials used in product manufacturing, and insights into adidas' previous sustainability achievements.

Additionally, detailed enhancements for sustainability-related information to the Product List and Product Detail levels were designed and prepared for integration into the website and app.
